Summary
Join Dev Technology as a Principal Application Developer and contribute to Agile software development for mission-supporting systems. This senior role involves the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment. You will research and resolve code issues, prepare reports, collaborate with team members, and learn new skills. As a senior leader in the cloud space, you'll drive value through cloud-native architectures using a serverless-first approach. Client interaction and implementation are primary responsibilities, along with internal contributions such as guiding the executive team on emerging technologies and supporting innovation teams. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 8+ years of relevant experience, and expertise in various technologies.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelorโs Degree
- Have a minimum of 8+ years of directly related professional experience supporting systems in multiple languages and frameworks
- Have experience with React UI or related UI frameworks (Angular)
- Have experience with AWS Cloud Tools (AWS Lambda, EventBridge)
- Have experience with Node.js
- Be able to understand complex business processes and how they relate to the systems supporting them
- Be able to research problems, identify a root cause, and recommend and implement a solution
- Possess aptitude for picking up technology quickly along with a desire to learn and progress
- Have good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be able to collaborate with team members to ensure client needs and expectations are met or exceeded
- Be comfortable working in a remote environment
- Demonstrate a passion for solving complex software challenges and enjoy collaborating on a team
- Demonstrate US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust
Responsibilities
- Perform Agile software development for systems that support our clientโs mission
- Develop software from requirements gathering phase through coding and testing
- Research issues in existing code and find solutions
- Prepare ad hoc reports
- Communicate status including issues and risks to the team
- Collaborate with team members to reach problem resolution
- Learn new skill sets on the job
- Drive value through the adoption and integration of cloud-native architectures using a serverless-first approach across current and future lines of effort both internally and externally
- Participate in Dev Technology public engagements, including working collaboratively to identify opportunities that align with company strategic goals
- Support Dev Technology Group presence at industry events related to cloud and serverless architectures
- Provide insight and guidance to the executive team on current and emerging technologies within cloud architectures and cloud-native services
- Provide direct and indirect guidance and support to innovation teams
- Participate in SBIR and Challenge work to demonstrate capability to potential clients
- Work with others in the organization to develop individuals and teams
- Provide direct billable support to clients cloud architect roles
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess a Masterโs Degree in Systems or Software Engineering or a related IT field
- Have a Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
- Have knowledge of JavaScript
- Have experience with AWS Lambda
- Have experience with the SPA concept and libraries
- Have experience with agile and DevOps tools, such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, and Junit
- Have experience in writing SQL and working with relational database structures, PostgreSQL, and/or Dynamo DB
- Have ICE cleared
- Have USCIS, CBP, or Top Secret clearance
- Have any other DHS clearance
- Have any other govt clearance
