Principal Software Engineer

Summary

Join SentinelOne's Unified Analyst Experience team as a Principal Engineer (Back-End) and lead the architecture and implementation of core features for the Operations Center experience, impacting how security analysts manage and respond to incidents. You will design and develop APIs and backend systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor engineering teams. Leverage your expertise in Java, REST, GraphQL, and other technologies to build scalable and reliable systems. This role requires extensive backend software engineering experience and strong leadership skills. Requirements

• Extensive experience (15+ years) in backend software engineering, including technical leadership and architecture design
• Expertise in building and optimizing APIs for large-scale systems
• Proven experience in designing systems with security and observability in mind
• Proficiency with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with product, UX, and engineering teams to drive solutions from concept to delivery
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills to support team growth and development
• Excellent communication and ability to drive alignment across stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement the architecture for core features of the Unified Analyst Experience, ensuring scalability, reliability, and usability
• Design and develop APIs and backend systems to unify workflows across UAM, xSPM, and related modules
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver customer-focused solutions
• Identify and implement improvements to system performance, stability, and security
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices, including code quality, design patterns, and development processes
• Drive innovation by evaluating and incorporating new technologies, trends, and frameworks into the Ops Center ecosystem
• Serve as a technical thought leader, influencing the strategy and roadmap for Analyst-focused capabilities
