Principal Software Engineer

Summary

Join Toast as a Principal Engineer and lead the development of our Design System, a crucial suite of reusable frontend components. Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with a proven ability to build world-class frontend applications and components
• Experience leading a customer-centric platform

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, reusable frontend components and experiences that Toast product teams can readily use to accelerate delivery, enhance quality, and minimize maintenance
• Cultivate strong relationships with all Design System users, including engineers, designers, and product managers throughout Toast
• Encourage shared ownership of the Design System within Toast. Nurture an open-source-like model where Toast’s engineers, designers, and product managers can contribute, despite the existence of a dedicated Design System team
• Collaborate closely with the Design System engineering manager, product manager, and design lead to make effective daily decisions and future plans
