Principal Software Engineer

Summary

Join Xometry's quoting & pricing organization as a Principal Software Engineer! As an individual contributor, you will guide software design for a team of approximately 25 engineers. You'll mentor and teach engineers, conduct code reviews, and ensure delivery of high-quality software. Collaboration with product managers, designers, and leadership is key. You will champion innovative technologies and methodologies. This role requires significant software development experience and expertise in various technologies, including REST APIs, Python, React, AWS, and more. The position is remote and requires US citizenship or green card.

Requirements

• Have at least 8 years of experience in software development, in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
• Possess strong technical expertise
• Have or quickly build technical expertise in REST API design and implementation
• Have or quickly build technical expertise in Python
• Have or quickly build technical expertise in Frontend web technologies including HTML/DOM/CSS, React, and Typescript
• Have or quickly build technical expertise in Cloud hosting services, especially AWS
• Have or quickly build technical expertise in Containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Have or quickly build technical expertise in Rust
• Demonstrate the ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, from executives to product managers and a wide variety of stakeholders and contributors
• Possess excellent leadership, execution, and communication skills
• Be a US person (citizen or green card holder)

Responsibilities

• Adopt a 'lead by example' approach by actively coding and troubleshooting
• Serve as a mentor and guide to engineers across the organization, teaching and mentoring them to grow their skills
• Do code review and mentor others within the organization to perform good code reviews
• Guarantee the delivery of superior software that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations, while aligning with the strategic business timelines
• Forge strong partnerships with product managers, designers, and company leadership to promote a culture of open communication and integrated team dynamics
• Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, methodologies, and practices to enhance problem-solving efficiency and effectiveness across the organization
