Summary
Join 3Pillar Global as a Principal User Experience Designer and lead UX efforts on multiple projects. You will collaborate with global teams, guide clients, and oversee the work of other designers. Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in a client-facing UX Leadership position (Lead or Sr. UX Designer)
- At least 5 years of consulting experience
- Expertise working with complex digital products, business logic, process, and a variety of clients
- Experience in organizational leadership, including experience working with and influencing teams and executive leads
- A strong track record of problem solving and a “roll up your sleeves” mentality
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to see the bigger picture among the details
- Experience working with global teams
- Highly culturally aware
- Experience in facilitating workshops
- Relationship builder. Highly empathetic and collaborative, able to work across senior-level stakeholders to drive decisions
- Strong communication skills, including ability to explain, persuade, and take a large amount of information and distill it into a clear, concise message
- Practical knowledge and experience in Agile practices and Lean methodologies to build best-of-breed products
Responsibilities
- Lead UX work on multi-designer (3-5) engagements and delegate tasks to other team members
- Act as the cross-functional lead designer of distributed product team members from our UX delivery centers in the US, LATAM, and Romania
- Lead UX rituals (e.g., internal design reviews)
- Participate in agile engagement rituals
- Lead the client and project team through influence
- Guide the client and internal team in evaluating tradeoffs, making design decisions
- Oversee work of other designers, review deliverables, provide feedback, manage to deadlines
- Identify opportunities to change team structure to improve efficiency and/or results
- Identify business opportunities at the client for increased revenue and engage CPs and PDMs accordingly
- Ensure the UX team understands the product vision, mission, goals, values, and user type(s)
- Possess an expert-level knowledge of interaction and visual design
- Create a collaborative team culture
- Identify and manage risk
- Provide suggestions for improvement on team members’ career development
- Provide guidance and feedback to team members on their performance
- Lead technical UX interviews with prospective hires
- Establish tools and processes for the team
- Take a leadership role in developing training
- Lead internal training sessions
- Publish UX content via LinkedIn, Medium, or other channels approximately 4x per year
- Communicate plans, priorities, and status to the client, team members, and internal management as appropriate
- Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends and emerging technologies such as AI, with a view to incorporating these in future projects and staying ahead of the market
