Process-Designer

Summary

Join iParametrics as a Process Designer (SR/Principal) in a remote role with occasional travel to Greenville, SC. The Senior/Principal Process Designer will lead the design and development of detailed process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams for large-scale industrial projects.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in design, drafting, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process design, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role
• Proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools like Revit or Inventor
• Strong knowledge of process systems design, piping layouts, and mechanical equipment
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and project requirements
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Greenville, SC

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
• Oversee the layout and design of process systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
• Collaborate closely with process engineers, project managers, and other design professionals to ensure designs meet project objectives and timelines
• Ensure that all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
• Review and approve design deliverables for quality and accuracy
• Modify designs in response to client feedback, changes in project scope, or other external factors
• Participate in project and design reviews, providing expert input and leadership in resolving design challenges
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for equipment specifications and procurement, ensuring proper integration with process designs
• Conduct site visits to support design installation and troubleshooting when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in process design, with significant experience in leadership roles
• Advanced proficiency with 3D modeling tools and process simulation software
• Previous experience working in a consulting or engineering services firm
• Experience with design and drafting for chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries
• Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
