Summary

Join Generation, a global nonprofit organization, as a Product Owner and contribute to our mission of empowering adults through employment. This global role reports to the Head of Product and Product Design and involves defining prototypes, developing product roadmaps, collaborating with engineering and design teams, and managing product lifecycles. You will work closely with stakeholders, manage project plans, and ensure the quality of developed software. The ideal candidate possesses at least two years of experience as a product manager, project manager, or product owner, along with a strong technology background and proven success in agile environments. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of experience as product manager, project manager of product owner
  • Have a positive, friendly, and collaborative attitude
  • Have a Technology background: Solid understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development lifecycles
  • Have a track record of working as a product owner or scrum master within an agile team that successfully delivered scalable products
  • Excel in effectively communicating and collaborating with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams, as well as with stakeholders and partners
  • Have experience shipping several large-scale projects with multiple dependencies
  • Have fluency in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Define initial prototypes and verify this design with customers and the engineering team
  • Help development the long-term product roadmap
  • Work with the Engineering and Design Leads to shape the future direction and strategy for digital within Generation
  • Work closely with our Program Delivery Support on rollout plans, including testing and training
  • Manage specifications and write Agile-style user-stories, maintaining the development backlog
  • Evaluate commercial products that could replace or augment our custom products
  • Monitoring and assessing software and the behavior of users prioritizing functionalities
  • Quality assurance for all developed software
  • Training to System Operations team
  • Roll out of products
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements
  • Collaborate closely with engineering in end-to-end solutions

  • Have experience actively coaching, mentoring, and developing team members and a champion of shaping our open, mission-driven culture
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to set a vision and motivate your team towards key milestones
  • Have experience in co-managing the day-to-day operations of a start-up or businesses units
  • Have experience with identifying new ventures in digital and business development
