Summary
Join MongoDB's Product Security organization as a Security Engineer and drive improvements for our Technical Services Engineering team. You will advocate for and lead security projects, implement security controls across software and systems, and partner with detection and response teams. This role requires 3+ years of security engineering experience, subject matter expertise in support engineering, and the ability to identify and fix security issues. You'll need scripting experience, threat modeling skills, and strong communication abilities. While not required, knowledge of core project languages, cloud providers, and experience with large-scale environments are beneficial. Requirements
- 3 years of experience in security engineering
- Subject matter expertise in support engineering practices
- Demonstrated ability to identify and fix security issues
- Scripting experience and ability to contribute code back to our environment
- Comfortable leading threat modeling and being a security ambassador to other engineering teams
- Communicate complex technical issues in a simple manner that builds trust with a variety of audiences
- A strong sense of ownership and delivery
- Can facilitate a conversation rather than dominate it
- Skilled at providing collaborative, actionable feedback, not just a list of flaws
Responsibilities
- Take ownership and drive improvement for our Technical Services Engineering organization, which supports our customers as they use our products
- Advocate for, and lead, security projects from inception through completion
- Drive security patterns and processes across Technical Services Engineering that make security the easiest path
- Partner closely with Technical Services Engineering teams to design and implement security controls across our software and systems
- Partner with our security detection and response teams to create new capabilities or respond to security events
- Educate the Technical Services Engineering org on security through CTFs, lunch-and-learns, and one-on-one mentorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of one or more core project languages (Golang, Java, C++, Javascript, Python)
- Working knowledge of one or more major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience with large scale environments
