Summary

Join our team as a Seizure Safe Schools (SSS) Program Coordinator and play a key role in developing, coordinating, and evaluating educational and training programs to increase awareness, safety, and inclusivity for students with epilepsy in schools nationwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, health education, or a related field
  • Public Health or Health Education Experience: Minimum of 3 years in program coordination, particularly within K-12 schools or health-related settings. Experience with epilepsy or complex health conditions preferred
  • Technology Platform Proficiency: Experience with Learning Management Systems, eLearning platforms, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and similar technologies
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with 3+ years in planning and implementing educational programs
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and leverage resources for program objectives

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the execution of the Seizure Safe Schools initiative in states with relevant legislation
  • Support the rollout of the Epilepsy and Seizure Safe Classrooms program by collaborating with stakeholders to enhance and distribute materials
  • Act as a key resource for schools, integrating epilepsy and seizure first aid training into educational systems
  • Collaborate with advocacy teams to monitor legislative progress and report on program outcomes
  • Work with the instructional design team to update training materials for educators, school personnel, and students
  • Conduct needs assessments and pilot programs to improve training and educational resources
  • Develop and refine materials such as infographics, handouts, posters, and online resources based on feedback from schools
  • Facilitate training sessions for educators and students to ensure effective delivery of epilepsy education
  • Provide continuous support to schools and stakeholders, troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Collaborate with public health, training, and advocacy teams to ensure program alignment with legislative requirements
  • Track and report state-by-state program progress and compliance with Seizure Safe Schools legislation
  • Build relationships with schools, educators, and school boards to promote epilepsy awareness and program success
  • Represent the Epilepsy Foundation at educational events, workshops, and webinars
