Summary

Join CannonDesign as a highly experienced Interior Designer to lead and manage the interior design aspects of a large-scale healthcare project at Mayo Clinic. You will provide design leadership, manage client relationships, and collaborate with various teams. This role requires a minimum of 8 years of experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field. The position may be filled anywhere in the US, with preference given to candidates who can work in a CannonDesign location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Ability to provide interior design leadership across multiple projects
  • Strong design, story telling and technical skills as well as the knowledge of building and life safety codes
  • Exceptional presentation, organizational, team building, collaboration and communication skills
  • The ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Professional business attire is required for client meetings. Examples of professional business attire include suits, ties, collared dress shirts, dresses, and skirts
  • Travel required

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the client and project team in establishment of the project goals and vision
  • Provide project interior design leadership across multiple projects
  • Lead the design development of the project’s goals through all phases of the project (the Pursuit, Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Design, Construction Administration)
  • Evaluate client needs, analyze and effectively document design objectives and spatial requirements
  • Lead the interior design approach within the project team
  • Be responsible for the conceptual and design development of interior spaces for the project
  • Coordinate project design work and code compliance
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines, including architecture, engineering and consultants
  • Conduct a review of drawings and support functions in conformance with project time, budget and quality constraints
  • Oversee and produce design visualization
  • Assist and/or lead in project planning through development and follow through of work plans/budgeting
  • Develop the schedule of work for the interior design components of the project
  • Assist in or lead client meetings
  • Maintain positive client and team relations
  • Implement, follow, maintain, and enforce interior design standards used throughout interior design team in all project aspects/ phases
  • Lead the development of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) throughout all phases of the interior design work, as required
  • Develop specifications and coordinate them
  • Mentor less experienced interior design staff
  • Actively participate and promote design leadership
  • Collaborate with design leadership
  • Consult with product vendors
  • Lead and/or participate in marketing activities, including proposal development and interviews
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site
  • May perform other duties as required
