Join Chamberlain University as a Visiting Professor and share your expertise with our undergraduate and graduate students. This part-time, course-by-course position offers the opportunity to teach online courses in psychology, leveraging technology for an engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or PhD in Psychology (PhD preferred) with relevant teaching experience and exceptional communication skills. Compensation is competitive and varies based on education, experience, and other factors.

Requirements

  • A Master's or PhD degree in Psychology or very closely related field along with 18+ earned graduate credit hours directly in psychology courses is required to be considered for this position
  • A minimum 2 years of teaching experience in an online/virtual environment ranked at the position of Instructor or higher is required
  • Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses
  • Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials, when appropriate, based on assignment
  • Possess genuine passion for education and lifelong learning
  • Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care
  • Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community
  • Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students
  • Completes other duties as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
