Python Developer

Summary

Join ARC Group as a Python Developer in a fully remote position, initially a contract role through December 2025 with potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment. You will also be responsible for implementing IT controls to protect application data. The ideal candidate possesses strong Python and back-end Java development skills, experience with REST APIs and batch file processing, and a methodical approach to evaluating libraries. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with 5+ years of related work experience.

Requirements

• Experience with unit testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures

• Ability to take methodical approach to evaluate various libraries with pros and cons to meet business / technical requirements
• Excellent understanding of Python programming mode and required libraries to develop REST API Services
• Demonstrated experience developing REST APIs using Python
• Demonstrated experience processing batch files using Python
• Demonstrated experience developing scheduling of batch processes
• Proficiency using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
• 5+ years related work experience
• Professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry
• Demonstrate experience using Elastic Search in Java (back-end Spring Boot)
• Strong Python development experience
• Strong back-end Java development (using Spring Boot)
• Related Bachelor’s degree or related work experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and code Information Technology solutions using Python
• Document the system
• Conduct unit tests
• Perform peer code reviews
• Maintain internally developed applications
• Evaluate and perform performance testing of purchased products
• Include IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the application and data processed or output by the application
• Take a methodical approach to evaluate various libraries with pros and cons to meet business / technical requirements
