Summary

Join Sourcescrub's globally distributed Data Engineering team as an experienced Python Developer. You will work on impactful pipelines and tools for web scraping, ETL, and parsing, directly contributing to product success. This full-time, contract role reports to the Director of Data Engineering. As a Python Developer, you'll design, implement, and maintain efficient, reusable, and scalable code for backend systems. You'll collaborate with a team, scale applications, and contribute to a supportive environment. The role requires experience with Python, cloud development (ideally Azure), and Agile methodologies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python
  • Experience with a cloud development environment, ideally Azure
  • Expert-level knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Experience with coding standards, architecture, and continuous integration practices
  • Experience with learning new technologies and techniques
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient, reusable, and scalable code for backend systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Drive the scaling of applications and performance tuning of back-end services
  • Write code as part of a collaborative team, building backend features that are essential to our client's daily operations
  • Implement solutions with autonomy, collaborating with engineering leads to architect solutions
  • Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing systems, ensuring that all business logic is well documented
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging best practices and continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using tools like Scrapy, Beautiful Soup and Databricks
