Summary
Join SQA Services, a leading Supply Chain and Quality Assurance consulting firm, as a Mechanical Inspector! Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on inspection experience with precision machined parts
- Knowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
- GD&T experience is required
- CMM experience (but not necessarily CMM programming experience)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be willing to undergo background
Responsibilities
- Conduct precise mechanical inspections at the client-supplier sites
- Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include but is not limited to purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawings
- Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)
- Approve or reject items and document inspection results as required
- Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements
- Communicate with internal customers, and suppliers as required to resolve inspection discrepancies
- Perform surface plate inspection of the first article, in-process, and lot sample parts if required
- Use an electronic enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to route parts and components to proper departments
Preferred Qualifications
CMM programming experience is a plus
Benefits
- $30 - $34 an hour
- Hourly rate while on site or working remotely (i.e. completing or modifying reports)
- Minimum 4 hours per day if deployed (i.e. "4 hour minimum")
- 50% hourly rate for any travel time (i.e. "p2p")
- Mileage reimbursement at US gov't rate ($ 0.655 per mile driven). Untaxed
