Summary

Join Technergetics as a Quantum Algorithm Consultant! This remote position, with potential for a full-time on-site role in Rome, NY, focuses on researching and developing quantum algorithms for advanced quantum networking and computing. You will implement and evaluate algorithms on quantum computers and simulators, developing novel solutions for NISQ-era computers and hybrid systems. This role requires a PhD in a relevant field and expertise in quantum information science. While company benefits are not offered for this position, the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge quantum technology research makes this a unique and exciting role. Note that U.S. citizenship and security clearance are required. A full-time offer is not guaranteed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a PhD in physics, computer science, mathematics, or closely related technical field
  • Have a Ph.D. in physics, computer science, mathematics or related field with specialization in quantum information science
  • Have experience in classical machine learning, quantum machine learning, computational physics or related field
  • Have experience using quantum simulation tools such as PyTorch Quantum, Qiskit, Pennylane, Cirq
  • Have expertise in Information Science, Quantum Computing, and Computational Numerical Methods
  • Possess clear communication skills and be able to convey highly complex concepts clearly and concisely in verbal and written platforms
  • Be a U.S. citizen (due to clearance requirements)
  • Meet and maintain eligibility requirements for, at minimum, Secret access to classified information

Responsibilities

  • Perform research and development of quantum algorithms to advance state-of-the-art quantum networking and computing
  • Implement and evaluate quantum algorithms on quantum computers and quantum simulators
  • Advance quantum algorithms through the development of novel solutions on NISQ-era quantum computers and hybrid quantum-classical systems
  • Develop quantum algorithms to perform computationally hard tasks including optimization and classification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrate experience in grant writing and opportunity capture
  • Have knowledge of quantum information science and quantum networking including how to implement quantum key distribution or distributed entanglement
  • Be familiar with the physical qubit technologies used to implement quantum algorithms
  • Have experience working with analogue and digital quantum computers
  • Have knowledge of the problem-spaces in which quantum algorithms can be applied (e.g., QUBO for optimization)
  • Have GPU programming experience
