Railway Test Validation Engineer

Summary

Join Segula UK, a global engineering service provider, as a Railway Test Validation Engineer. This role involves implementing validation processes, documenting vehicle commissioning and maintenance, writing test procedures and reports, executing tests, and resolving electrical device faults. You will manage validation activities, the project team, and schedules, ensuring timely delivery of validation proof. Collaboration with customers and stakeholders is crucial. This is a 6-month contract with hybrid or remote work options and career development opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's/ Master's degree in the electromechanical field or another related field
• At least 2 years of rail vehicles system knowledge (system analysis)
• Tests organization capability, and knowledge of planning tools
• Knowledge of Standards & Regulations
• Knowledge of test & commissioning, test and validation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Work Package Management
• Knowledge of how the connection with the train is done
• Knowledge of Software/ protocols: LAN, CAN/ CAN BUS, TCP/IP
• Fluent in English (minimum B2
• Must be available for frequent travel, both within the country and abroad. Travel durations can vary and may be short-term (1 week), medium-term (1 month), or long-term (up to 6 months)

Responsibilities

• Implement the standard process and related methodologies and tools to ensure Validation efficiency
• Document commissioning and maintenance of vehicles' rail
• Write test procedures and test reports
• Execute tests
• Ongoing removal of faults and failures of electrical devices
• Ensure the timely issue of the Validation proof (including proof of lower-level systems and components) and consolidating Validation files
• Review part of the Sub-System Validation Plan relevant to test at the Train level and accept (to be included in Train Validation Plan) or reject considering other possibilities
• Manage the Train-level validation activities, creating and maintaining the Validation Plan
• Manage the Train Validation project team
• Manage the consolidation of Train Validation commitment and performance in due time for the tender or the project
• Approve Train System Handover
• Approve reviewing Train Test Procedures/reports
• Manage the validation schedule, optimizing the validation sequence in relationship with the train design and configuration maturity and test means availability
• For Validation scope establishing & organizing Technical Interface with customers, producing Customer Documents and obtaining Customer Approval when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Good to have an electrical habilitation level/ certification
