Requirements
- Requires J.D./L.L.B. from an accredited law school
- Attorney license in good standing and admission to the bar in at least one state
- 5+ years of relevant substantive legal experience in a law firm or company legal department working on land use and commercial real estate transactions
- Experience with environmental law and in land use issues and trends, with preference to attorneys representing applicants before planning and zoning boards and other governmental agencies
- Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced work environment with very detailed information and maintain a high degree of accuracy
- Proactive work ethic demonstrating initiative
- Ability to organize, coordinate, manage self and time effectively, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills, including ability to learn and use proprietary computer systems and databases
Responsibilities
- Lead negotiation and drafting of EquipmentShare's real estate agreements, and assist in closings for various commercial transaction types (purchases, sales, leases, sale-leasebacks, and acquisitions)
- Procure zoning and land use entitlements and permits
- Provide advice and counsel related to real estate site selection, transaction structure, due diligence (including zoning, survey, environmental review, and title), and real estate documents related to new branch opening activities
- Interact directly with colleagues at all levels within EquipmentShare’s real estate, development and construction teams, among others, to facilitate transparency across departments
- Interact directly with outside counsel, opposing counsel and staff, landlord personnel, title and escrow agents, and others
- Understand, manage and improve EquipmentShare and Legal Department procedures and forms to create efficiencies and cost savings
