Real Estate Counsel - Renewables

Join Unison’s Real Estate Counsel team as a key player in our core mission. We are seeking an experienced attorney with a proven track record in executing business strategies, accelerating transaction pipelines, and managing portfolio risk. This role involves close collaboration with senior management, origination, pricing, and property management teams. The position is remote, based from your home office. You will lead efforts to support the origination and closing of renewable energy real estate assets, manage deal pipelines, negotiate and draft documents, oversee due diligence, and advise on strategic transactions. The ideal candidate possesses 5-10 years of experience as a commercial real estate attorney, deep knowledge of renewable energy financing and development, and fluency with technology and remote work.

Requirements

• 5-10 years as a commercial real estate attorney at a mid to large-sized law firm and in-house at a renewable energy developer is required
• Deep knowledge of the financing, development, and operation of solar and wind facilities
• Fluent with technology and remote work
• Juris Doctor and bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. state

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to support the origination and closing of renewable energy real estate assets in the United States
• Manage a pipeline of deals across the United States and facilitate dialogue between pricing, origination, legal, and the management team
• Negotiate and draft documents for commercial real estate transactions
• Oversee due diligence activities and underwriting assets for lease terms, projected cash flow, and operator, offtaker, and facility information
• Advise on strategic transactions and commercial matters
