Redis/Valkey Engineer

Summary

The job is for a remote Redis/Valkey Support Engineer at Percona, a global open-source database services provider. The role involves helping customers' DBA teams, investigating issues, authoring blog posts, and more. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of Redis/Valkey and related technologies on Linux, experience in administering Linux-based systems, and be able to troubleshoot methodically.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of Redis/Valkey and related technologies on Linux
• Demonstrable experience in administering Linux-based systems
• Knowledge about environments such as VMWare, Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Knowledge about cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean and/or Azure)
• Ability to troubleshoot methodically

Responsibilities

• Helping our customers’ DBA teams when they need expert assistance
• Gathering relevant data and investigating issues to provide a detailed analysis of your findings in a digestible format by email, instant message or voice
• Authoring new blog posts on interesting topics for our open-source community to digest
• Answering questions on our forum
• Creating new articles in our customer-facing knowledge base for more frequently seen issues
• Hosting webinars amongst other things

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with customers in English
• DBA experience with MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
• Percona Monitoring Plugins and other monitoring tools
• Writing Golang is preferred
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking
