Regulatory Compliance Manager

Summary

Join Vonage's legal team as a Telecommunications Regulatory Counsel, playing a vital role in ensuring global compliance with telecommunications laws and messaging industry standards. You will monitor and adapt to evolving global frameworks, participate in cross-functional compliance implementation, research regulatory requirements, advise the business, and support commercial negotiations. This role involves building compliance into products and services, promoting compliance awareness through training programs, and managing external consultants. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement or fully remote option within the UK. Sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

• Skills and experience in US telecommunications regulation and how it relates to Vonage’s business
• Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems in a complex technology and business environment
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a meticulous attention to details
• Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, up to and including senior-level management

Responsibilities

• Monitor, communicate, and adjust to developments in global telecommunications frameworks including digital and security rules, as well as in relevant industry standards and carrier requirements
• Participate in cross-functional groups that implement new compliance requirements into programs
• Monitor and report regarding the effectiveness of compliance programs
• Research regulatory requirements and carrier/industry messaging standards and advise the business
• Work with colleagues in Legal and the business on how to build telecom, security and digital compliance into products and services through proactive assessments of new products and services and corporate functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, Products)
• Support commercial negotiation teams by providing relevant compliance advice and negotiating with resellers, suppliers, vendors and customers
• Identify strategic opportunities and communicate them to relevant business teams
• Promote and maintain compliance awareness across Vonage and deliver effective, role-based telecom, security and digital training programs
• Manage consultants and outside counsel

• Results oriented, proactive, responsible, pragmatic and ethical person with a passion for telecommunications regulatory work
• Global telecommunications regulatory experience
