Requirements
- Degree in a relevant field preferred
- Five or more years of consumer lending underwriting experience or equivalent is required with increasing level of responsibility
- Knowledge of standard consumer lending products, policy/procedures, and regulations is essential
Responsibilities
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to Credit Union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws affecting internal and third-party loan decisions and funding processes
- Works under direct supervision of Quality Assurance Manager
- Executes third-party originator decision and funding audits to ensure conformity to guidelines
- Meets or exceeds agreed upon targets for quality assurance review/audit, Management agreement rate, and other business metrics
- Assists Consumer Lending Teams with underwriting loan requests as needed
- When assigned, prepares, and maintains periodic reporting to help drive efficiencies and uniformity across all third-party lending products
- Provides regular feedback with recommendations for deeper audits and/or program evaluations
- Keeps abreast of internal control audit trends to assure audit processes remain effective
- Assists management with internal compliance reviews and regulatory examinations
- Assists Consumer Lending Teams with underwriting or processing loan applications as needed
- Participates in Consumer Lending initiated projects
- Works with management to identify process inefficiencies and potential compliance violations requiring revision, as needed
- Provides support to internal fraud investigations including use of third-party systems as needed
- Assists in monthly review of third-party originator charge-off loans
- Develops and maintains understanding of all third-party originator relationships as it pertains to the maintenance of ongoing quality assurance practices
- Supports the successful communication of qualitative and quantitative data points to internal stakeholders, third-party originators, and associated vendors
- Conducts more complex or specialized reviews of loans as needed
- Provides regular feedback to management with recommendations for deeper audits and/or program evaluations
- Proficiently utilizes the TPL audit software including assisting management in creating reports, dashboards and analyses of third-party originator portfolios that inform and drive the credit union’s third-party originator product and business strategy
