The Role

As Data Architect you will play a critical role in shaping and supporting the strategic direction of our data initiatives. As a Data Architect, you will work closely with the Data Team to evaluate data tools, identify potential gaps in proposed data programs, and estimate the costs and total cost of ownership (TCO) for solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of data architecture principles, best practices in data management, and hands-on experience in selecting, deploying, and optimizing data technologies.

Responsibilities:

Data Tools & Technologies: Collaborate with the Data Strategist to assess and recommend tools for data storage, integration, processing, and analysis. Ensure that selected tools align with both technical requirements and business objectives.

Gap Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of proposed data architectures to identify any gaps or areas of improvement. Ensure that all aspects of the data ecosystem, from storage to security, are addressed comprehensively.

Cost Estimation & TCO: Help estimate the costs associated with implementing and maintaining data solutions, including licensing, infrastructure, operational expenses, and staffing needs. Provide a holistic view of the total cost of ownership (TCO) for proposed systems.

Data Architecture Design: Develop robust, scalable, and secure data architecture that supports current business needs and is adaptable for future growth. Incorporate best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.

Tool and System Integration: Ensure that all data tools and systems integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and align with organizational goals. Oversee the implementation process to confirm that integration meets performance and security standards.

Data Flow Optimization: Design and optimize the flow of data within the organization to ensure efficient processing, minimizing redundancy, and improving accessibility for various stakeholders. Strong understanding of data pipelines, microservices, and APIs, and data streaming at scale.

Security & Compliance: Ensure data architectures comply with regulatory standards and maintain high levels of data security. Implement measures to protect sensitive information and ensure alignment with organizational data governance policies.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various teams (Marketing, Product, Operations, IT, Business Intelligence) to align technical solutions with strategic business goals. Act as a key point of contact for data architecture-related inquiries and decision-making processes.
