Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data science, ideally within healthcare or a related field
  • Proven experience building machine learning models, particularly for process mining, anomaly detection, or optimization
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with experience using data science libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Experience with process mining tools and techniques is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and query optimization
  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib) to present findings effectively

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets from healthcare revenue cycle processes to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies
  • Build and refine machine learning models for process mining, workflow optimization, and recommendations
  • Develop algorithms to detect workflow bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and deviations from the optimal process path
  • Calculate metrics and KPI's to quantify process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and product managers to integrate data science solutions into the product
  • Work with domain experts in healthcare revenue cycle management to understand business requirements and data sources
  • Translate healthcare RCM business problems into analytical frameworks
  • Validate and optimize models to ensure they deliver accurate insights and actionable recommendations for users
  • Conduct A/B testing and model validation techniques to measure model performance in real-world conditions
  • Develop visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Present and explain complex models and data-driven solutions to stakeholders in product development and healthcare operations
  • Stay current with the latest trends in machine learning, AI, and healthcare technology, and bring innovative ideas to the team
  • Experiment with new data science techniques to improve the product's process intelligence and automation capabilities

Summary

We are seeking a talented and driven Data Scientist to join our multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will apply advanced data science techniques to large datasets captured from healthcare revenue cycle processes, helping to identify trends, optimize workflows, and create actionable insights. Your work will directly influence product development by developing algorithms that power operational intelligence.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data science, healthcare, and software development. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to deliver high-impact solutions that enhance the efficiency of revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Model Development:

    • Analyze large datasets from healthcare revenue cycle processes to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
    • Build and refine machine learning models for process mining, workflow optimization, and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Education:

  • Domain Knowledge:

    • Understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management (claims processing, billing workflows) is preferred but not required.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Detail-oriented with a passion for continuous improvement.

Travel Requirements

This role does require domestic travel.  These travel expectations will be communicated by the department manager or executive. Janus is committed to providing as much flexibility and advanced notice as possible related to scheduling travel.

Physical Demands

This job operated in a professional remote or in-office environment. This job uses standard office equipment. This job is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee has the flexibility to move as needed. Constantly operates a computer, phone, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. The employee frequently communicates with internal and/or external people. Must be able to exchange accurate information in a timely manner. Must be able to recognize objects from short and long distances.
