Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases
  • Strong proficiency in SQL query optimization and performance tuning
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining complex stored procedures, triggers, and views
  • Experience in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL databases
  • Understanding and practical experience with Amazon AWS services, such as EC2, RDS, and S3
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development
  • Knowledge of database security principles and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their stability, availability, and performance
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data efficiently, improving system performance and response times
  • Design and maintain complex stored procedures, triggers, and views to meet business requirements, ensuring data consistency and integrity
  • Install, configure, and monitor PostgreSQL databases, addressing any issues or errors that arise
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, authentication mechanisms, and data encryption
  • Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies, minimizing the risk of data loss and ensuring business continuity
  • Utilize Amazon AWS services, such as EC2 and RDS, for database deployments, monitoring, and scaling to meet business demands
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly
  • Utilize Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development, ensuring proper code management and team coordination
  • Assist in data warehouse design and implementation, including ETL processes and reporting requirements
