Remote Director, Government Affairs

Join our team at Flex, a growth-stage FinTech company, as we seek an experienced State Government Affairs leader to build awareness of our mission and products among state policymakers and regulatory experts.

Requirements

• At least 10+ years of experience in state government affairs, public policy, or politics
• Proven track record of developing and implementing proactive and reactive state policy engagement programs for consumer financial services and/or fintech companies
• Strong knowledge of state legislative and regulatory processes, as well as existing relationships with state policymakers, advocates, and trade groups involved in consumer financial services, rental housing, and fintech issues
• Experience in building and leading cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
• Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

• Represent Flex in engagements with state legislators, regulators, and other key stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships at the state level
• Monitor and analyze state-level legislation and proposed regulations to assess their potential impact on Flex’s business operations
• Provide timely updates to leadership on how evolving state policy landscapes may affect Flex
• Develop and execute state-level engagement strategies for legislation, regulations, and other policy matters
• Manage relationships with state lobbying firms and collaborate with relevant industry associations and trade groups
• Strengthen relationships with advocacy organizations and key stakeholders focused on state-level issues that align with Flex’s business priorities
