Engineering Manager I, APM Ecosystems, Integrations & Data Modeling (IDM)

Requirements

• You have previously managed a team of 5 or more ICs
• You are comfortable managing remote teams in different timezones
• You have a proven track record of understanding the performance of large-scale services
• You are data driven and have excellent analytical skills
• You have significant experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, Go, .NET, Ruby, Node, C++ or PHP

Responsibilities

• Recruit, manage, and grow a remote team of 5+ talented engineers, ensuring they deliver high quality, timely work, and that they’re happy, motivated, and growing
• Guide the team’s technical design and architecture decisions as we build new features across multiple languages
• Contribute to our SDKs – adding cutting-edge functionality and debugging tricky problems and help us continue to raise the bar on the quality of our code and the stability of our SDKs
• Work with the product team and other stakeholders to flesh out the future of the product
• Work with other managers in the US and in Europe to deliver cross-cutting projects
• Drive our open source projects and engage with the different languages communities to find and address the most important challenges; in observability, we work directly with growing communities such as OpenTelemetry
• Contribute to shape the future of the engineering organization
