Requirements

• Full-time commitment and availability to join our expert team
• Expert knowledge in Natural History, particularly in taxidermy
• Basic to intermediate understanding of CITES, the EU Birds Directive, and general nature protection laws (we’ll provide additional training)
• A proactive attitude and the courage to try new approaches, adapt, and refine processes
• Proven commercial experience with a talent for maximising sales opportunities and engaging users
• Familiarity with auction strategy optimization, including reserve pricing, sell-through rate, and cash flow
• Strong analytical skills for monitoring auction performance, spotting trends, and guiding sellers
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to engage effectively with a remote team and represent Catawiki in all dealings
• Solid computer skills and proficiency with online sales platforms
• A reliable network of contacts, including dealers, collectors, curators, and experts within the Natural History and taxidermy communities
• A high level of professionalism and diplomacy when managing disputes or negotiations
• Fluent in English (additional language skills in Dutch, French, or Spanish are a plus)

Responsibilities

• Evaluating and arranging the lots submitted by our users
• Curating and creating compelling lot listings weekly, making them highly appealing to our vast audience of collectors
• Reviewing lot titles, descriptions, and images, providing users with reliable estimated values and professional advice
• Communicating professionally and courteously if an item doesn’t meet our standards
