Remote GIS/FLUCCS Subject Matter Expert

Overview:

WiredPeople is seeking to hire a subject matter expert with expertise in Geographic Information System (GIS) and/or Florida Land Use, Cover, and Forms Classification System (FLUCCS). Standout candidates will be available to contribute their GIS / FLUCCS expertise for land use data analysis, survey design, and technical recommendations as needed. This role will operate part-time and remotely with the potential for some required travel to TBD locations in Florida.

Responsibilities:

• Validate the requirements and deliverables that the project will produce.
• Provide input for the design and construction of project deliverables.
• Provide input into and/or create and execute user documentation and training material.
• Guide other professionals within the project team to ensure the content is accurate.
• Resolve issues relevant to project deliverables within their area of expertise.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience with land use or land cover data, particularly using the FLUCCS classification system.
• Knowledge of spatial data use cases, water quality modeling, and business analysis for IT projects involving GIS.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to break down technological processes and deliver clear, step-by-step instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset.
