Summary
Join Bedrock, a company operationalizing the largest Earth-exploration mission, focusing on ocean floor exploration using AUVs, robotics, and software. You will be part of a team improving datasets, AUV behaviors, and customer insights. The role involves first-pass data analysis of various datasets (multibeam echo sounder, side-scan sonar, etc.), creating data products and reports for clients, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring data quality. This position requires experience processing and reporting on multiple datasets using commercial software, familiarity with GIS software, and report writing for commercial clients. Bonus skills include experience with all listed datasets, offshore wind client experience, and coding experience.
Requirements
- Have experience processing and reporting on at least two of the following datasets: multibeam echo sounder, side-scan sonar, magnetometer, sub-bottom profiler using a commercial software suite
- Demonstrate experience and comfort with ArcGIS or QGIS and AutoCAD
- Possess experience writing data reports for commercial clients
- Show attention to detail
- Be comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Responsibilities
- Perform first pass data analysis of multibeam echo sounder, side-scan sonar, magnetometer, and sub-bottom profiler datasets using standard software (e.g., Qimera, SonarWiz, Seaview)
- Create data products and related write-ups for commercial clients
- Collaborate with internal teams, providing expert guidance on improvements to vehicle and survey plans
- Work with product, leadership, and customers to ensure Bedrock data is of the highest quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience with all the listed datasets
- Have experience preparing data/reports specifically for offshore wind clients
- Possess some (even light) python/R/matlab/shell/sql coding experience
- Have experience in the field (ship or AUV operations)
