Join our dedicated Animal Quality team at Taconic Biosciences as a Laboratory Animal Veterinary Nurse II in Seattle, WA. This hybrid position offers flexibility to work equal parts onsite and remote. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting animal health and welfare, performing clinical and technical tasks, and collaborating with colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level required
• Requires veterinary technician/nurse degree with laboratory animal coursework
• WA State licensed veterinary technician required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience and/or training
• Supervisory experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Visits Taconic facilities to monitor animal health and welfare concerns
• Performs necropsies as needed and report findings to veterinary staff
• Enters, pulls reports, and screens clinical data for colony health changes
• Extracts clinical data for site veterinarian to respond to internal or external customers
• Evaluates anomalous animals and communicate findings to veterinary staff
• Provides training to animal technicians on veterinary procedures
• Schedules special health monitoring when needed (e.g. culture/histopathology from necropsy)
• Conducts special projects as assigned and document findings for veterinary review
• Support and perform flow cytometry tasks as needed
