Remote Lead Geologist/Environmental Scientist

As a primary technical resource for permitting and compliance projects, you will lead the preparation of factual reports, summary technical documents, and permitting and renewal documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in environmental permitting and compliance
• Experience working with federal and/or state regulators on permitting and compliance

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical resource for permitting and compliance projects
• Lead the preparation of factual reports, summary technical documents, and permitting and renewal documents
• Develop technical plans and reports for geological / hydrogeological investigations, feasibility studies, and corrective action
• Oversee data management and analysis for data collected in the field
• Interact with regulatory agencies and clients
• Identify, evaluate, and document ways to improve and optimize remediation activities including technologies, approaches, strategies, and best practices
• Proactively identify client needs and initiate activities to meet those needs
• Demonstrate effective client and project team communication skills with a focus on technical issues for clients, regulators, and stakeholders
• Coach junior scientists to develop their technical skills
• Serve as a primary contact for clients in the permitting and compliance space
• Manage and/or implement fieldwork associated with well installation, soil boring investigations, and soil type classification
