Remote Machine Learning Operations Engineer

Join Housecall Pro as a Staff MLOps Engineer and lead the development and optimization of our machine-learning infrastructure with a focus on Python programming, Kubernetes, DevOps practices, and data engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of experience in MLOps, DevOps, and data engineering with a strong focus on Python programming
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Experience building and managing data pipelines and infrastructure with tools like Apache Airflow or similar
• Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with AWS preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure for deploying, monitoring, and managing machine learning models
• Drive the development and deployment of LLM applications, ensuring efficient performance and integration
• Research and integrate emerging technologies in DevOps, Kubernetes, and data engineering into our infrastructure
• Develop and automate end-to-end pipelines for data ingestion, preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and deployment
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to optimize model performance and scalability
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and ensure consistency
• Manage Kubernetes clusters for scalable and efficient model deployment
• Design monitoring systems to track model performance and reliability
• Optimize resource utilization and system architecture using DevOps best practices
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Terragrunt
• Experience in developing and managing LLM applications, with a focus on scalability and integration
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and mentor junior engineers
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
• Proactive problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities
