Summary

Join Rackspace Technology as a Network Security Engineer and provide technical support to customers via phone, ticketing system, and automation. This role owns complex customer issues, takes initiative, and advises on potential pitfalls. The Network Security Engineer will create and maintain customer loyalty by providing Fanatical Experiences above and beyond customer expectations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM desired
• Experience with one of the following security tools: Tripwire, Tenable, and/or Trend Micro
• Experience with change management tools such as: Ansible, or Big Fix
• Knowledge and experience with ethical hacking, firewall and intrusion detection/prevention technologies, secure coding practices and threat modeling
• Advance knowledge and experience of virtualization technologies, Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
• Advance knowledge and experience of network and server hardware infrastructures and storage technologies (NAS, SAN)
• Experience with designing secure network architectures, identity and access management principles, application security, encryption technologies, DNS, SOA, database and web applications
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex scenarios with clear solutions
• Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers via phone, ticketing system, and automation
• Own complex customer issues which may take several days or weeks to resolve
• Take initiative and advise on potential pitfalls that a customer may encounter
• Suggest alternatives through automation, which may better serve the stability and security of the customer's solution
• Troubleshoot customer network environments including firewall configurations, VPN technologies and access-control lists, VIP configurations, TCL(iRule) and Perl scripts, layer 4 thru 7 issues
• Support many elements of the Rackspace Cloud product portfolio, including RackConnect
• Create and maintain customer loyalty by providing Fanatical Experiences above and beyond customer expectations
• Adhere to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed
