Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role or similar capacity, ideally within a government contracting environment, particularly USAID
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and best practices, proficiency with HR software and systems, and familiarity with labor laws and employment regulations
  • Previously worked as a contractor or direct hire at USAID
  • Experience hiring, managing or working with PSCs
  • Strong understanding of employment law and compliance requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and conducting initial interviews
  • Facilitate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues, providing guidance on company policies, benefits, and workplace concerns, and supporting conflict resolution processes
  • Assist in implementing and managing performance review processes, providing guidance to managers and employees on goal setting, performance improvement plans, and career development
  • Support benefits enrollment and administration processes, ensuring accurate data entry and communication with employees regarding benefits offerings and changes
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, including maintaining employee records and completing necessary documentation for government contracts
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with government contract requirements and best practices in human resources
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and metrics related to staffing, turnover, employee engagement, and other key performance indicators

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM- Certified
  • Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and familiarity with DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) initiatives
