The Role

We are the Enterprise team, which focuses on corporate development teams from various industries; and advisory, legal, private equity, investment funds, and real estate firms that have 10+ projects with iDeals and work with them on a recurring basis. We own a dedicated component within the iDeals Virtual Data solution; however, our efforts and impact span the whole ecosystem.

As the list of requests from the Enterprise clients continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (.NET) to join us remotely from Ukraine or Poland. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing new features, improving existing services, and supporting production environments, while fostering a strong coding culture within the iDeals Virtual Data Room product.

You’ll collaborate closely with teams across engineering, product, DevOps, and customer support, reporting to the Engineering Manager and influencing key technical and product decisions. Your expertise as a Senior Backend Engineer will help drive product development, adopt the latest technologies, stay current with modern frameworks, and uphold best engineering practices.

Tech stack

Microservices architecture / service-oriented architecture; .NET 8; Web API, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, TeamCity, ArgoCD, GitLab.

What You Will Do

• Participate in all phases of the SDLC as part of a cross-functional product team. This includes, but is not limited to, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing (unit and integration tests), building, deployment, and operation of new product increments, handling change requests, defect resolution, spikes, and proof-of-concepts.
• Ensure high-quality solutions by maintaining acceptable test coverage, aligned with the Definition of Done criteria.
• Be a proactive team player, contributing actively to the group’s efforts to complete tasks and achieve goals.
• Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design reviews.
• Support hiring activities by participating in technical interviews and live coding sessions to select the best technical talent for the team.
• Engage in mentorship and knowledge sharing within the team and Engineering organization.

What We Look For

• Product-focused approach, consistently striving to create value for users.
• Strong sense of ownership, taking full responsibility for end-to-end development from design through to production support.
• Over 4 years of commercial experience in backend development using .NET platform (including .Net ⁶⁄₈).
• Solid understanding of the SDLC, along with software design and architecture principles.
• Expertise in API design principles, with a solid understanding of REST, RPC, including security considerations.
• Experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS is preferred).
• Expertise in writing both unit and integration tests while ensuring that best practices for testing are integrated into every phase of development.
• Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes, with the ability to create and maintain Helm charts.
• B2 level proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Proactive attitude and a growth mindset, with a strong orientation towards self-development and continuous learning.

Nice To Have

• Experience in product or SaaS businesses will be a significant differentiator.
• Experience with multiple products in the virtual data room domain.
• AWS Certification.
• Knowledge of security best practices in backend development.
