Lead Data Engineer

Summary

Join Notabene, a leading crypto organization, as a Lead Data Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping how crypto transactions are settled globally. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate BI requirements into accessible, real-time reporting, maintain and improve Notabene’s data management and analytics, and build and maintain data pipelines. Scale the data warehouse architecture, optimize data insights, and drive a data-driven culture by training and upskilling power-users. Work closely with stakeholders to understand their BI/reporting needs and provide insights for strategic decisions. Notabene offers a fast-paced, global, remote-first environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years working in data engineering
• Proven experience in building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data infrastructure
• Strong experience working with dbt core/cloud
• Business savvy and capable of interfacing with finance, revenue and ops leaders to build our business intelligence
• Expertise in data governance, best practices, and data security, especially related to PII
• Proficiency in SQL and Python and with experience working in AWS
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a global, remote-first company
• Proficient self-starter and comfortable working with ambiguity
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using technologies like dbt, Airbyte, Cube, DuckDB, Redshift, and Superset
• Work closely with stakeholders across the company to gather data requirements and setup dashboards
• Promote a data driven culture at Notabene and train, upskill power-users across the organization
• Ensure data governance and security practices are in place, especially around high-security PII data
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure performance and scalability
