Requirements

  • Securing internet-facing traffic (WAF, security groups, subnetting, etc)

  • Monitor applications, gather telemetry and use associated utilities. Unified logging and error reporting

UserGems is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Devops Engineer to join our team.

Our Product

‍UserGems helps companies generate more revenue by identifying buyers who will most likely buy from them. By monitoring a company’s existing customer list for customer contacts that change jobs or move companies.

Each month, our customers get a list with these changes; identified and ranked by our proprietary algorithm. This algorithm combines thousands of data points to generate the best possible prospecting list, uniquely tailored to them so their sales team’s pipeline is always up to date with the correct prospect information so they can reach out to them.

As a Sr. DevOps Engineer you will:

  • Have  ownership of our infrastructure, which includes availability, costs, security, documentation and performance
  • Support teams working with PHP, Java and Python
  • Build tools to enable developers to maintain their code in production
  • Monitor applications, gather telemetry and use associated utilities. Unified logging and error reporting
  • Manage users and passwords in coordination with security team

About our tech stack:

  • AWS/Azure (1% Azure as legacy which will be migrated to AWS over time, 99% AWS)
  • Kubernetes (EKS) for service hosting and Docker/ECR for build/distribution
  • Helm for templating Kubernetes workloads
  • Laravel Forge for configuration and deployment of PHP workloads
  • RabbitMQ (AWS MQ) for micro service messaging and communication
  • Datadog for log management
  • Python/Bash for scripting
  • BitBucket as VCS (possible migration to GitHub soon)
  • PHP, Java and Python code bases
  • Mysql, Postgres and Elastic Search databases

Your Qualifications:

  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer.

  • You have a degree in computer science or similar.

  • You are highly proficient in spoken and written English.

  • You have a passion for working with technology products.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

  • You are proactive and like to take responsibility.

  • You have experience with:

    • IaC (Terraform) and configuration management
    • Cloud computing providers (AWS)
    • CI/CD and SCM/VCS tools (Bitbucket, Github)
    • Kubernetes and Helm
    • Large scale/high workload environments and managing resource constraints (RAM/CPU, etc)
    • Securing internet-facing traffic (WAF, security groups, subnetting, etc)
  • Experience in managing large mysql databases is a plus.

  • Experience in optimizing mysql is a plus.
