Remote Senior Manager, Security Engineering

As a Senior Manager, Security Engineering at Samsara, you will manage and grow our global Security Engineering team, focusing on enabling secure enterprise and cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Significant (6+ years) experience working in security engineering or enterprise security within the technology sector
• 4+ years of experience managing security engineers and analysts
• Motivation and ability to grow talent by providing a proper mentorship and performance management environment while prioritizing empathy
• Hands-on experience managing complex security efforts with minimal disruption to ongoing operations

Responsibilities

• Manage the Security Engineering organization, focusing on piloting and developing new security solutions to address critical risks
• Provide technical supervision, career development, and mentoring to team members
• Stay abreast of the latest security risks and disclosures and ensure Samsara infrastructure is sufficiently protected
• Collaborate with product teams and corporate engineers to prioritize and integrate larger Samsara security initiatives appropriately in infrastructure
• Comprehend and baseline our infrastructure security stance
• Collaborate with security leadership to define strategy, roadmap, OKRs, priorities, and key metrics for the global Security Engineering team
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
• Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
