Remote Software Engineer, Mid/Senior (Java/Kotlin)

Join OLX and see how far you can go. We are looking for Senior and Mid-level Software Engineers to join one of the OLX teams. As a (Senior) Software Engineer in our team, you'll be collaborating closely with colleague engineers and SREs, the product team, and an Engineering Manager while building one of the newest distributed systems we have in the company.

Requirements

• Proven expertise: Professional experience in software development with Kotlin/Java and web application-related frameworks like Spring, Ktor, Http4k, Micronaut, or similar
• Architectural vision: Passion for architecting, building, and scaling cloud-based systems, serving millions of users
• Technical excellence: Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
• Cloud savviness: Experience in architecting Cloud Native solutions, AWS is a plus
• Product team experience: Worked in multi-functional international teams
• Ownership mentality: Believe in self-aligned teams and the 'you build it, you run it' philosophy

Responsibilities

• Lead projects: Drive technical contributions and lead the planning, execution, and success of complex projects
• Collaborate: Be part of a team and establish credibility with the quality of your own and your team’s technical execution
• Innovate: Encourage the team to innovate, invent, implement, and deploy complex software solutions
• Own it: Ask questions, brainstorm, and own the product we are building
• Align with product: Work closely with the product management team to ensure we’re building the best products for our users
