Sql/Python Software Engineer

Summary

Join The Codest, an international tech software company, and contribute to a banking app project for a leading Japanese financial group. This role involves working on the backend of two applications, primarily using PostgreSQL and Python. You will be responsible for adding and modifying database elements, developing new functionalities, and participating in the full software development lifecycle. Requirements

• Advanced English in speaking and writing (you will be working with international clients only)
• 5+ years of commercial experience in Python
• Vast experience with PostgreSQL (materialized views, triggers, isolation levels, etc.)
• Good knowledge of database performance issues, indexes and the SQL language itself
• Familiarity with Object-oriented programming
• Comprehensive understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and systems

Responsibilities

• Add/modify existing tables, views, functions, etc. databases to display appropriate data for the front-end
• Work on new functionalities in Python
• Participate in planning, design, testing, and code review
• Build rapid prototypes and work on fast-paced projects
• Work effectively within a cross-functional multi-site team
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems is a plus
• Experience working with Docker would be beneficial
