Remote Staff Data Scientist

Join Angi's Data Science team as a Staff Data Scientist to enable our transformation into a world-class online marketplace. Develop state-of-the-art machine learning models and algorithms for fraud detection, deploy them at large scale with low latencies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields)
• 7+ years of experience in data science & machine learning, with a focus on real-time ML models, ideally within the tech industry & marketplace environments with focus on fraud
• Expertise in state-of-the-art algorithms such as Graph NN, Reinforcement Learning and other unsupervised learning approaches for detecting transactional and non-transactional frauds
• Proven track record of deploying highly impactful machine learning models into production environments
• Proficient in SQL and Python, and experience with cloud ML solutions

Responsibilities

• Lead development of state-of-the-art machine learning models and algorithms to improve fraud detection in both sides of the marketplace and booking process
• Implement highly optimized models to ensure the seamless deployment and scalability in production, including automating model training, versioning, monitoring, and deployment processes
• Work closely with a strong team of engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers to build scalable and high-impact machine learning systems
• Foster innovation within the team, exploring new approaches and techniques to solve complex business problems
• Guide junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence

• Salary band: $200,000 - $280,000 commensurate with experience and performance
