Remote Staff SQE Engineer - Optical

Summary

Join our team as the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) and play a key role in ensuring the quality of optical and PCB suppliers for GoPro. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing supplier quality, collaborating with suppliers to resolve quality issues, and driving continuous quality improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Must have a deep understanding of optical lens quality control and manufacturing processes
• At least 4 years of experience in optical parts SQE within a contract manufacturer or original design manufacturer (CM/ODM), along with 2+ years of quality experience in a lens manufacturing environment. Additional PCB quality experience is a plus
• Familiarity with essential quality and engineering tools such as FA, 5why, DOE, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and MSA
• Strong problem-solving skills, including failure analysis, root cause determination, and independent problem resolution
• Solid communication and professional working proficiency in English both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Responsible for optical part quality, solving PCB quality issues
• Review and buyoff supplier PPAP, PMP. Align inspection plans for both supplier and CM IQC
• New supplier qualification(Quality Management System audit) and AVL supplier regular audit
• Drive supplier quality continuous improvement program, elevate supplier quality performance
• Support sourcing and engineering team; validating new technical camera needs
