Summary

Join our team as a Turkana Transcriber and contribute to research for talk-to-text technology by transcribing audio files in our online database. The task involves listening to audio files, typing what you hear, and labeling segments according to provided guidelines. You will be paid per minute of audio transcribed.

Requirements

• Native-level (C2) proficiency in Turkana including the ability to read and write
• Excellent grammar/ orthography and punctuation in Turkana. You will be required to take a test
• Have an Upwork profile, or be willing to create an Upwork profile
• High-speed internet access
• Access to e-mail

Responsibilities

• Transcribe all assigned audio files
• Follow project guidelines
• Meet project deadlines
• Make consistent progress on assigned audio files
• Communicate with project managers in a timely and effective manner
