Join us as a Vehicle Automotive/Mobility Engineer in support of the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS). The successful candidate will oversee research, design, development, and engineering efforts for automotive systems in ground combat vehicles.

Requirements

  • Secret Security Clearance
  • A bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited program in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a college or university
  • A Master’s degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience
  • A minimum of five years experience in design, development, integration, test, and lifecycle management in one or a combination of the following
  • Powertrain (Engine, Transmission, Final Drives, Power Transmission Devices, and Hydraulic Power Systems)
  • Track and Suspension Systems (Track/Pitches, Sprockets, Roadwheels, Idlers, Return Rollers, and Hydro-pneumatic Road Arms)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for automotive systems such as Engine, Track and Suspension, Transmission, Drivers Controls, Engine Cooling System, Final Drive, and other related systems
  • Provide technical input and recommendations during high-level program management reviews, staff meetings, System Engineering Integration Team (SEIT) meetings, and risk and production updates
  • Review design layouts, testing documentation, teardown and installation procedures, inspection, and identification of necessary repair parts, and recommend fixes related to automotive system integration
  • Interface with program representatives from Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC), Armaments Center (AC), TRADOC Capability Manager (TCM), and test sites such as Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) and Yuma Proving Ground (YPG), as well as automotive manufacturers, to resolve design and performance issues
  • Develop technical reports addressing potential technology insertions, analyze system and technology trade studies, and provide recommendations for automotive/mobility technology requirements

We are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Automotive/Mobility Engineer in support of the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS).The Vehicle Automotive/Mobility Engineer will support overseeing research, design, development, and engineering efforts for automotive systems in ground combat vehicles. They will act as a subject matter expert in areas such as engine, suspension, transmission, and other critical mobility components, ensuring integration and performance across emerging and fielded systems. Additionally, they will collaborate with key stakeholders to support program coordination, testing, and technical reviews, contributing to the successful development, fielding, and sustainment of vehicle platforms within PEO GCS.
