Research Engineer

As a Research Engineer, you will design, develop, and evaluate novel AI techniques, collaborating with product and engineering teams to ensure project success. Leveraging your expertise in LLMs and strong software engineering skills, you will build and maintain research datasets and infrastructure. This role requires a master's degree in machine learning or equivalent experience and a proven track record of research. A hybrid or remote work arrangement is possible. Requirements

• A masters degree in any area of machine learning; or equivalent experience
• Relevant academic or industrial research experience
• The scientific curiosity and tenacity required to solve hard research problems
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and evaluate novel techniques in AI to advance the capabilities and impact of ASAPP’s products
• Collaborate with product & engineering teams to ensure the success of projects during the research phase and after
• Build and maintain research datasets, infrastructure and toolkits
• Collaborate with other functions at ASAPP to identify research opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

• Peer reviewed publications in any area of machine learning
• Strong software engineering experience
• Experience fine-tuning LLMs
• Ability to maintain a fun, casual, professional and productive team atmosphere
• The ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner
• Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
