Requirements
- MSN and DNP (or PhD in nursing degree) are required
- A minimum of 2 years teaching experience is required; preferably at the graduate level
- Must have an active unencumbered RN nursing license (compact/multi-state licensure required)
- Must have an active unencumbered APRN nursing license
- Must be willing to obtain Illinois nursing license (if not already obtained) prior to teaching
- Must be board certified by ANCC or AACN as ACNP or AGACNP or AGPCNP or FNP or ADULT NP
- Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction
- Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment
- Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet
Responsibilities
- Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives
- Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students
- Completes other duties as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Online teaching experience highly preferred
- Additional NP certification highly preferred

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience
