Summary

Join Benesch, a growing planning, engineering, and professional services firm, as a Civil Roadway Designer. You will perform fundamental analysis, design calculations, and coordinate drafting project elements with the design team on various transportation projects. Recent Graduates are encouraged to apply! This position has a hybrid work schedule and can be based in any of our Nebraska or South Dakota offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related discipline required
  • Desire to obtain your Nebraska or South Dakota E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future)
  • Perform design efforts and plan development for Transportation projects (including roadway, traffic, hydraulics, Erosion Control, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in Microstation, OpenRoads Designer and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
  • Willingness to be adaptable to office and field project site inspection tasks to support project design
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.)
  • Detailed, and organized and thrive in environments that are deadline-driven

Responsibilities

  • Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships
  • Review mathematical calculations, organize calculations to be included in the design file, and follow project standards as assigned by the Project Manager
  • Establish project goals and milestones, define responsibilities, coordinate resources, and monitor project progress
  • Design and model simplistic mill and overall jobs to more complex new and reconstruction projects
