Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as nuclear, chemical, process, mechanical, or aerospace engineering
  • Professional experience developing or amending safety case analyses on high-hazard or highly-regulated facilities

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing analyses that form the safety bases for Oklo’s used fuel recycling facility
  • Review of regulatory documents and codes
  • Developing approaches, designing and executing engineering analyses
  • Conducting some modeling and simulation
  • Crafting documentation
  • Collaborating closely with other regulatory and design engineers
  • Executing licensing projects and contributing strategically to licensing deliverables
  • Managing projects for an interdisciplinary team of engineers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience developing or amending safety bases and associated documentation for NRC licensed or DOE authorized nuclear facilities
  • Experience working in facilities processing or housing radioactive materials
  • Knowledgeable about fast reactors and fuel cycle activities
  • Experience with coding analysis and simulation tools
