Summary
Join Assystem, an international company accelerating the energy transition, as a Safety Case Assessor in Warrington/Cumbria. Support and conduct Safety Case reviews, develop new assessments, and assist with Safety Case activities alongside plant Safety Case Managers. Key responsibilities include planning and conducting Safety Case Assessments (HAZANs and OSMs), developing ALARP justifications, chairing SQEP HAZOPs, providing Safety Case expertise, driving documentation through approvals, determining the impact of changes, and supporting team capability improvement. Essential qualifications include detailed understanding of Safety Case principles, nuclear and general engineering, and previous Safety Case experience. Strong communication, technical writing, and computer skills are also required. A questioning attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team are highly valued.

- Detailed understanding of the principles of Safety Cases, Nuclear and General Engineering
- Previous experience of Safety Cases is essential
- Ability to demonstrate SQEP SL SC knowledge to S&RM and/or value stream leads
- Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Must be a competent writer of technical based reports/presentations and safety assessments/reviews
- Must be a good communicator using face-to-face discussion, telephone and email
- The ability to listen is essential
- Ability to interact remotely using various technologies is a required skill with the current remote working
- Ability to preset arguments and justification is a concise and coherent manner is essential
Responsibilities
- Proactively lead engagement with Plant personnel to
- Plan for and undertake Safety Case Assessments e.g. HAZANs and OSMs
- Develop and collate coherent and concise ALARP Justifications
- SQEP HAZOP chair with applicable demonstrable experience
- Provide Safety Case experience and knowledge to the reviews undertaken
- Ability to drive Safety Case documentation through its approval processes
- Determine the impact of any required changes to the current Safety Case
- Provide support and input to the overall team to promote and improve the overall team capability
Preferred Qualifications
- The ability to use and experience of the Sellafield IT systems will be an advantage
- Knowledge of the Safety Case Index
- Previous Safety Case experience
