Summary
Join TPAPT, a national consortium of over 12,000 local tutors, and become an SAT/ACT Tutor! This part-time position offers flexible hours, primarily in afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with pay starting at $75/hour. Successful candidates will undergo an initial training period and a probationary period before taking on a full tutoring load. The role includes opportunities for professional development, such as tutor development meetings and non-tutoring opportunities in curriculum development and tutor training. Requirements
- Have experience tutoring all sections of the SAT or ACT
- Commit to at least 1 year of assignments
- Achieve a score in the 90th percentile or above on the SAT or a 32 or greater on the ACT
- Be available and willing to tutor 10 to 20 hours per week
- Possess great teaching instincts and the ability to explain concepts in a variety of ways
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students
- Exhibit a compassionate/understanding attitude and great perceptive ability
- Show a willingness to learn new methods and approaches to tutoring
- Display a collaborative spirit and willingness to share new ideas to improve other tutors
Responsibilities
- Tutor students in all sections of the SAT or ACT
- Participate in initial training on the SAT and ACT and teaching methodologies
- Successfully complete a probationary period with limited tutoring assignments
- Attend regular "tutor development" meetings
- Potentially participate in non-tutoring opportunities such as curriculum development and tutor training
Preferred Qualifications
Have previous teaching/tutoring experience with the GMAT or GRE
